Recap

On October 22, 2026, the Chicago Bears defeated the New England Patriots 30-24 at Soldier Field. Chicago improved to 5-2, while New England dropped to 4-3.

Cairo Santos delivered a career-long 58-yard field goal to give the Bears a 30-21 advantage late in the fourth quarter. His successful kick followed an earlier attempt that struck the right upright. That miss had denied Chicago a chance to build a two-score cushion.

New England stayed within reach through the closing seconds. Andy Borregales made a 47-yard field goal to cut Chicago’s lead to 30-24 with 37 seconds remaining. Rome Odunze recovered the ensuing onside kick, securing the result for the Bears.

Chicago earned its 4th victory in 5 games despite mistakes across all 3 phases. The Bears also lost tight end Cole Kmet to a knee injury. Their late field goal and onside-kick recovery ultimately provided enough separation to finish the game.
